Mother’s Day fits nicely in the “smalliday” category for me: like Valentine’s or New Year’s, it’s 100% for fun. My ideal Mother’s Day is one where I pick out a gift for myself (usually a vase of fresh flowers), wash zero dishes, and take a family walk.
Whether you’re a mother of living creatures, the mother of your own creativity, or both, a baker’s dozen of floral-inspired gifts, right this way:
13 mother’s day gifts
A set of gardeny art prints ($15), letterpressed on handmade cotton paper.
A funny needlepoint pillow ($108). She’s not like a regular mom!
A reblooming hydrangea ($105) in the happiest pink.
An entwined braided ring ($224). The perfectly imperfect never-ending braid precisely embodies motherhood, doesn’t it?
A charcuterie/ crudités platter ($159). Lots of great local options for this, too, i.e., Lady & Larder in Los Angeles and Brie & Banquet in Calgary.
A set of brightly colored packing cubes ($36) for her adventures.
A graphic sweatshirt ($168) that says it all.
A springy British cookie tin ($35) — bonus points if you fill it with homemade chocolate chip cookies.
A fancy silk bandana ($125). Would pair well with a beautiful tote.
A custom keychain ($20) with her name or a funny saying. When I was a kid, there was a sign in a restaurant that made my mom laugh: “Be nice or get out!” Wouldn’t that be fun to carry on her keys?
A pitcher featuring Van Gogh’s Roses ($72) that would look gorgeous on the shelf (and could double as a vase for grocery store flowers).
An embroidered keepsake box ($48) for sweet notes, Polaroids, 4x6 prints of her favorite iPhone photos.
A milestone portrait ($325) because every mother should have a beautiful photograph of herself.
Honorable mention to Nate, Eleanor, Lucy, Charlie, and Mick for making me a mother. I love y’all.
Thanks for reading! Happy Mother’s Day. xoxo

Love this positioning. I’m a huge New Year’s Day and Valentine’s Day person, in that they’re these low key fun days, but Mothers/Fathers Day always feel heavier. (Maybe the stress of gifting acknowledging my parents/in laws?) But for me/my family I live with, I love leaning in harder to “THIS IS NO BIG DEAL ITS JUST AN EXCUSE TO BE LOVING AND TOGETHER IN A CHILL WAY” vibe.
