Buy Art: Ocean Waves
You'd be surprised how many different colors made their way into these artworks
Ahoy my dears.
Don’t typecast oceany artwork as inspirational poster fodder only. We’ve got a range of vibes here, from coastal grandmother to moody sunsets and beyond. Six wavy pieces today, all made by real live human artists! Shall we?
1. High Tide by Sarah C. Nightingale, $75
Giclee print on cotton canvas. Buy it here.
I’ve been DYING to share this breathtaking piece with you! Sarah is such a gifted painter. The tones in this piece honestly make me a little teary.
2. Seascape Painting by Constantin Weschiloff, $2400
Oil on board. Buy it here.
You all know I love an impressionist oil painting (who doesn’t?). Fun fact: This piece comes from John Derian’s vintage collection, which just makes it even cooler.
3. Autumn Stacks with Heather Mullion Cove, Lizard Peninsula by Melanie Chadwick, £125
Mixed media on archival paper. Buy it here.
My favorite composition of all the artworks today. Waves peeking out at the top of the piece! Truly brilliant. Cornwall based-artist
has a terrific Substack btw.4. Poʻipū Beach Sunset by Alex Steele, $9.99
35mm film via digital download. Buy it here.
I made this photograph on the south shore of Kauai a few years ago while my kids played on the beach beside me. Hopefully you can feel the gratitude and awe I felt when I shot it. (Would be willing to sell a one-of-one framed and signed print if you’re in the market!)
5. Fog and Waves, San Francisco by Gray Malin, $549
Photography print. Buy it here.
Gray Malin is easily one of the most influential photographers of our generation. When I was curating this series, I knew this was a piece of art I would buy because I couldn’t tear my eyes away from layers of clouds and the pink tones.
6. Colours of the Ocean No 57 by Liliana Gigovic, $580
Oil on canvas. Buy it here.
Last but not least, a spectacular rendition of Mother Nature’s daily finale. It’s an original, so congratulations to the lucky one who gets it — send me a photo of it hanging in your home, will you?

I LOVE that you added your work to this list. Looking for future opportunities to see/purchase your art. And, this list was breathtaking!
High Tide is exactly the piece and palette I will be using as inspiration in my newly renovated office space. Thank you for bringing this to my attention !
