Deep Dive ~ Our trip to Super Bowl LX
An NFL employee and an artist walk into a football game...
Hi! Nate and I got to go to the Super Bowl — work perk! thanks babe! — and I have so many photos to share. Also in here: what I nerded out about the most, who stole the halftime show, and who we cheered for. (the streaker) (just kidding)
I spent my first few days exploring San Francisco (more on that later!) while Nate was at work. One of his highlights was shooting this ad with Jon Hamm.
Our first event together was Friday at the Super Bowl Fan Experience, which is basically like Comicon for football fans. Later on Friday night we went to a party at Oracle Park, where we got to take a tour of the Giants’ clubhouse and dugout. My sports nerd husband was on cloud nine!
I got my black puffer coat on eBay for a fraction of the price. Wore it nonstop. Dressed up my clear bag with a Clare V. tulip charm!
tailgate
On Sunday morning, we took a bus with lots of NFL employees to a tailgate party outside Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. We didn’t see any celebrities there, but Nate saw a few during the week and even got a photo with Robert Irwin. One morning we rode the elevator with Adam DeVine! (Oh, and during the game Nate spotted Pedro Pascal in our section for a few minutes!)
Nate gently teased me about how I couldn’t stop gushing over the event design. Rainbows and gradients and bright colors everywhere! My dream! This design team deserves their own trophy. That pink carpet, are you kidding me?! The rainbow CMYK Super Bowl LX logo was perfection, and the branding came to life in a humongous, happy way on Sunday.
Of course we wore Levi’s! Nate’s jacket here. My white jeans are oldies from Target, similar here. After walking nonstop for four days, I was desperate for slightly roomier shoes, so I bought some Vans in a half size up. Nate’s hat is from Ebbets Field, alsooo how cool is this Puerto Rico hat!
the game
As a naturally anxious person, I was so grateful for a couple tools to help me handle the overstimulation: first and foremost, my Loop earplugs. Not sponsored or gifted (I wish) — these little things are miracle workers. The other unexpected helper? A metal hair clip to bend back and forth on repeat. Highly soothing.

There were 70,823 people in attendance! I’m still gobsmacked by the scale of this sport. When Seattle scored their first touchdown, we could feel the stadium shaking.
¡benito!
As a lover of all things behind-the-scenes, watching Bad Bunny’s halftime show setup from our seats on the middle deck was fascinating. Could you tell those trees on the field were all people? There must have been 200 of them. What a brilliant way to move props: make them people.

The stadium halftime show was very different than the televised one because the jumbotrons were used as part of the performance, so we missed most close-up details, like the guest dancers at the pink house. But the music was just, wow. Obviously a 10/10 — Bad Bunny is so incredibly talented. I LOVED how he kept the party going on all the way into the tunnel, so joyful. It truly felt like he made it more about the audience and the community than himself.
Neither Nate nor I had a specific team we were cheering for, but I must say, growing up with Seahawk fan grandparents, I was really happy when they won. A Patriots win would have been wonderful, too! I need one of those shirts that says “I just hope both teams have fun,” haha!

My husband is a huge Packers fan, so we’ve been to Lambeau Field and it is quite exciting to be there live, and I also wore earplugs though I tried some dupes—probably will upgrade to the Loop Switch. A Super Bowl would be next level! So cool to see your behind the scenes.
“I need one of those shirts that says “I just hope both teams have fun,” haha!”
That’s the safest fandom strategy out there. Zero stress, maximum vibes.
