Hi my dears!
We’re eating our feelings after the Chiefs’ loss, ughh! Heading east to Proof Bakery and Howlin’ Rays this afternoon. LA readers, any east side recs for us while we’re over there?
My kids already exchanged Valentines in their classrooms (these cookies in these bags), and we’re putting up paper love notes all over the house because we could all use a little more, ahem, sibling affection around here.
Sooo many links today. Shall we?!
everything heart-shaped
A few years ago, Nate and I gave ourselves a freebie and designated Valentine’s Day a 100% kid holiday. If you’ve been here since Halloween, you may remember I’m kind of a giant scrooge about holidays that require more than an hour of mental parental input. However, I am a sucker for anything heart-shaped!
Need this heart spoon rest.
I’m adding these blue heart earrings to my wear-them-for-a-week-straight category.
Nate gave me this heart-edged pint mug with my name on it for my birthday last year. Don’t tell my 55 other mugs, but it’s my favorite.
Heart shaped sticky notes, heart-encased matches, who but Rifle Paper Co. could offer us such treasures.
When I was a kid, my mom had a cute photo of my dad in a small, gold heart-shaped picture frame on her bathroom counter. I thought it was so romantic! It looked kind of like this. I love this cutout one, too.

A wildly funny story told by a blind comedian about his appearance on a gameshow and the shocking response that followed.
My dream home in Topanga Canyon!
An Etsy expert’s vintage solution to never buying another plastic storage bin.
Serena just might have won the whole thing.

I’m sure I’ve shared these spliced fruits before, they’re marvelous.
We don’t use salt and pepper shakers, but maybe we should.
Is it tomato season yet?
Crying and laughing and crying.

Hot take: Abercrombie & Fitch’s curvy jean selection is MILES better than Madewell’s.
Thrilled that my favorite citron Margaux flats just went on sale!
Got a little teary when I realized my girls are too big for everything in the Edgehill x Kristin Ellen Hockman heirloom collection.
The famous Hill House nap dress for $75 and free shipping? No brainer.
Drooling over these pink sapphire earrings. Joanna says we’re doing pink for spring!
Why don’t ALL of my jeans have a cute braid detail?!
The intricate details on the hem of this lilac top are even prettier in person.
I wore my insanely soft cashmere button up every single day last week, it’s the perfect top layer in my drafty little house. (I wear the XS but I’d say it fits more like a small or medium.) Even my dad asked if it came in his size, haha! Dad, let’s get you this one from the guys’ section :-)

“The affection and thoughtfulness required in the home are no abstract exercises in love, no mere rhetoric concerning some distant human cause. Family life is an encounter with raw selfishness, with the need for civility, of taking turns, of being hurt and yet forgiving, and of being at the mercy of others' moods. Family life is a constant challenge, not a periodic performance we can render on a stage and then run for the privacy of a dressing room to be alone with ourselves. The home gives us our greatest chance, however, to align our public and private behavior, to reduce the hypocrisy in our lives.”
