I started a YouTube channel (!!?)
Also in here: couscous salad, crochet dresses, and A'ja Wilson
Hello my dears! And a warm welcome to our new readers.
Guess what? I did something I never thought I’d do: I started a YouTube channel. It’s my new place to paint and chat. Once I reach fifty subscribers I can even livestream. Next thing you know I’ll be dispatching newsletters from the moon!

Cracking up and seriously studying this post on brown butter peach bars (“my favorite food is crust” killed me) and a minty couscous salad.
If you’re picky about clean ingredients, the Yuka app is extremely handy (and free). Scan a food or cosmetic product’s barcode and the app deciphers the label for you and rates it based on the ingredients. (via Becca)
A fun look at Richard Scarry’s artwork.
Someone please snatch this rare book!

This spring, Lucy’s friend from school moved onto our street, which coincided perfectly with taking the training wheels off her bike. Every single day, she asks if she can ride her bike to her friend’s house, and before she leaves, we agree on a time she needs to be home.
When the FlikFlak team from Swatch asked me if they could gift Lucy a watch, we happily accepted. All Lu needs is a simple, analog watch. She’s too young for a device, but she’s old enough to travel down the block independently.
Swatch is a brand I’ve loved since I was a child and am happy to share with you. I appreciate your support of sponsored posts in Handpicked.

some fun facts about the a'ja wilson commercial:
- the couple in the living room are her parents!
- her coach has the second cameo - picking up food at the diner
- that's her hometown church
- at 0:47, there are portraits of her grandparents on the wall in the church
- the spot was directed by Malia Obama!
Yes Yuka!! Also I loved the intimate look into doodles and cards by Richard Scarry - Cars and Trucks and Things That Go was my boys' favorite book!
