Hi! Today I’ve handpicked ;’) a batch of gifts for your mother-in-law! My siblings and I have wonderful MILs, and this list is dedicated to them. Cindy, Julie, Jené, Darlene, and Janis, thank you for raising the people we love the most.
You might need your father-in-law’s help for this one: a framed photo ($32) of her with her mother. (Helpful folks on Reddit can work wonders on blurry or damaged photos.) Get it printed on matte paper at the FedEx store if you need it available same-day. Alternate: an artwork made by your kid just for her, or a photo of her with your co-favorite guy — her son, ofc!
My #1 gift that you can never give too many times: a unique vase ($58) — this one has real hydrangeas pressed into the glass, and here’s one that’s hand-thrown in Vermont. Fill it with her favorite flowers, tie a pretty ribbon around it, and don’t forget the card!
Inspired by my mother: a mini purse kit ($150) full of Mom’s three must-have tools: Swiss Army nail clippers, a mini measuring tape, and the world’s comfiest earplugs.
A chic baseball cap ($49.50) she can wear with a dress, cut-offs, or sweats.
They say you can never go back once you try a crossbody phone case ($98). It’s giving Barbara Howard! :)
A fancy treat bundle (bonus points if you box it up in a cute container). For my MIL, I’d include my latest obsessions: French roasted cacao, fruity floral fiber bars, lemon curd, a coconut lime chocolate bar, and elevated nuts. And of course, a Dr Pepper.
Marble headphone rest ($39) for the mother-in-law whose mantra is, “A place for everything and everything in its place!”
A thin, understated bracelet ($59+) with her children’s or grandchildren’s names on it.
You know immediately if a wearable hot water bottle ($60) is the perfect gift for your MIL. If so, grab her some cashmere socks and proceed directly to Favorite In-Law Position.
Did you know they make sunglasses with magnification for reading? Last year we gave Nate’s mom a pretty set of beach towels; these beach readers ($48) and a good book will make great “follow up” gifts.
For the mother-in-law who loves throwing parties, a set of unbelievably pretty paper plates ($53+). Pairs well with British candles and a floral tablecloth. Related: a set of plates for grandkids to use whenever they come over.
If your MIL is also a mother of the bride, gift her a white bow clutch ($250). She could lend it to the bride as her “something borrowed,” an official phone-wallet-lip-gloss-carrier for the day. For the DAY.
Last of all: these natural rubber clogs ($100) are for me in thirty years, if my sons have sons who too *must* race outside to the curb to watch the trash truck.
Thank you so much for shopping my links, I appreciate every single click and purchase! See you on Friday for Buy Art.
xo, a.s.
