Hi! Good news and bad news: the hottest weekend of the year invited itself to David and Audrey’s wedding. Fear not, everything still went perfectly; my sisters and I are declaring this our family’s best wedding yet. One photo at the end!
And now, our secret to surviving the triple-digit heat with no A/C in our little old house, and a little present I’m giving myself…

My plants have been ~thriving~ in the heatwave; our fiddle leaf fig tree sprouted three new leaves over the weekend! And apparently, the pothos and monstera have fallen in love:

Any advice for getting rust out of a Lodge cast iron pan?? We make “tiny eggs” in their adorable 3.5 inch skillets, but they get rust in them after like, seven minutes. Help.

The other night, Nate and I were sitting on the couch waiting for the laundry to finish so we could get it into the dryer before bed. I was tired from a long cry, so I asked him to put on something funny. He picked Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ acceptance speech of the Mark Twain Prize. Oh my gosh, the Merchant of Venice audition 😂 (05:29)

Zero Waste Chef has a good post on cast iron: https://zerowastechef.com/2018/02/12/how-to-maintain-and-revive-cast-iron-pans/ If it's getting rusty, I think the key is to dry and then season after cleaning (rub a little oil on with a paper towel and heat it for a couple minutes on the stove; then use a clean paper towel to absorb any excess left). My son loves eggs in that pan too! Bought it with his allowance money.
