Hi hi hi.
Whirlwind of a week here — Charlie had surgery, the dryer broke. Both have recovered nicely, thank the Lord.
While I’ve been snuggling with my sweet boy (he’s ok! already back at school!) and catching up on 1.5 metric tons of laundry, my Tinge Floral painting has waited quietly on the shelf. She’s nearly done:
As I type this, the house is silent and all is well. Bread dough is rising on the counter while the baby naps and the laundry spins. (Shoutout to Avi, my wonderful repairman/ bestie who comes all the way from Sherman Oaks to fix my ancient appliances.)
Deep calming breaths.
Grateful that it’s a little bit easier to be a human being today than yesterday. Praying for all of those in the midst of strife, big and small, seen and unseen.
Now. Shall we have a few links?
today’s bouquet
My laundry method makes no sense on paper, but works perfectly.

Not sure who priced this gem at $10, but I would have paid triple and called it a bargain. The quality!
This carafe + glasses are really reasonably priced and would make a memorable gift.
Loved this feature: the bride walked down the aisle through a cloudburst!
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Even though I’m 34, I just booked my first mammogram at a facility that’s using new technology to read mammograms more effectively, recommended to me by a family member who works in medical tech. Can you believe I’ve had four close friends diagnosed with breast cancer in the last 11 months?
While we’re on the subject, may I have the attention of the As and Bs: this has completely changed my life. My weight and bra size have fluctuated like crazy over the last ten years through pregnancies, nursing, and postpartum, and I’ve finally found a bra that fits perfectly. Hallelujah/ about time.
Adding these to my triple combo.
I’m on the hunt for a blue cardigan. This light blue is so feminine, and I’d wear this cosmic blue every day. Related: I think I’m ready for a blue smock.

magic vegetables
My mom invited me to give a talk on newsletters at her Homemaking group last week. Her (our!) friend Erin hosted and made the most delicious butternut squash soup. Before we ate, Erin taught us the BEST ritual:
When you’re cooking with vegetables, look up their spiritual meaning. For example, google “spiritual meaning of butternut squash.” You will be blown away, I’m telling you! All of a sudden your food will mean so much more!

Can’t get enough of Pottery Barn’s 12 days of Christmas print. Platter! Towels!
Putting this out the minute the Thanksgiving dishes are done. Also, it’s me, haha!
The one thing I always run out of on Christmas Eve.
Okay, yuletide cotton fabric. So cute. @Elissa, are you seeing this?!

Three things from Trader Joe’s in my kitchen right now:

Grateful for you.
I have that Alex Mill cardigan and love it! Sooo versatile (you can wear the buttoned side in front and back!)
How to make the soup? Please and thank you
