Alex! I would love your thoughts (as someone struggling with framing indecision) – how do you decide whether to use a photo mat with a picture vs go full frame with it?
That’s a great question. I struggle with this too honestly. I like to skip the mat whenever I can, such as with closeups, far-away scenery shots, and photos with less details along the edges. I like to use a mat to add drama or contrast for a powerful image. It also depends on your wall/ what other art is around the piece. Basically, I just try to think, “how would a museum curator frame this?” 😂😂 I’d love to see how yours turns out in the end!
